Holy Week 2020

No other week in the Church year has so strong an aura of special devotion. The eight days from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday immerse us in the central mystery of God’s work of salvation through the Lord’s death and resurrection

Palm Sunday: Sunday, April 5, 9:30 AM

Traditionally, there are three Holy Week services. It starts with Palm Sunday, commemorating Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem before His betrayal. It is often marked with palm branches and shouts of praise.

Maundy Thursday: Thursday, April 9, 7:00 PM

The next service is Maundy Thursday. The term "Maundy" is based on the Latin word for "command." It comes from John 13:34, "A new command I give you..." Maundy Thursday focuses on the institution of the Lord's Supper.

Good Friday: Friday, April 10, 7:00 PM

The origins of the term "Good Friday" are debated; the weight and measure of the service are not questioned. Good Friday retraces Jesus' passion. It is the perfect preparation for Easter Sunday.

King of Kings members are urged to follow recommended practices that limit the spread and contraction of the virus, including stringent personal hygiene and refraining from public gatherings that place individuals in close proximity, including worship.

Regular worship services will be live-streamed each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM and on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM.  A limited number of staff and volunteers will participate in the services.
