A CELEBRATION OF REMEMBRANCE AND THANKSGIVING - Our time here at C Ave. is rapidly coming to an end. We have much to remember and celebrate. A service of remembrance and thanksgiving to God will be held 9:30 am on Sunday, August 29.  We will follow this time of worship with a special program at 10:30 and a Pig Roast Picnic at 11:00. You won't want to miss this historic occasion.

FORWARD IN FAITH At this time we have spent approximately 1.2 million dollars on our new building.

All of this has been done without borrowing any money!! Currently, stone is being installed on the front of the building.  With the completion of the roof, there is a lot of other activity going on the site.  We are expecting that windows will be installed in the next two weeks. We are anticipating that the August billing will be greater than the amount of money left in our escrow fund.  So if you have had a busy summer and have missed a couple of your Forward in Faith contributions, now would be an excellent time to get caught up or even get a little ahead on your contributions.  It would be a real blessing to get through September with no interest charges.

Church Basement Ladies - Have you heard about the "Church Basement Ladies"?  This musical comedy from the 1960's, based on recipes, food and CHANGE in the church, is set in the basement of a LUTHERAN church in rural Minnesota.  It is a funny performance that is bound to bring back memories of many people you have known in churches everywhere!  Enjoy the show at The Old Creamery Theatre in Amana on Saturday, September 18th at 7:30 PM.  The Board of Adult & Family Life has reserved a section of seats for $26.50 each.  (This ticket price will be reduced if we have enough interest in the event!)  Sign-up and pay on or before Sunday, August 29th, with Kristi Mueller by phone (377-1283) or e-mail (kristimueller@q.com).  There will also be a sign-up sheet at church.  Please make all checks payable to King of Kings with Theatre in the Memo Line and leave in the Adult & Family Life box in the office.  We look forward to seeing you there!

WANTED- EMPTY CARTRIDGES AND USED CELL PHONES ON THE LOOSE! Be on the look out. If found, please bring to King of Kings and place in the white box beneath the LWML display. We have been searching far and wide for them. Your reward . . . a warm and fuzzy feeling in your heart for helping your LWML raise much needed funds to host the 2015 LWML National Convention in downtown, Des Moines, Iowa. Thank you for your support.

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES Want to be closer to your spouse and children? Praying, as a couple and as a family, is one of the most powerful and intimate things you can do together. Pray for things you’re thankful for, things you need and things you’re worried about. God invites us to come to him with all of these things. If you are not now praying with your children, or with your spouse, consider the positive impact of doing so. You will be closer to God, and to each other. Lutheran Family Service of Iowa, 4403 1st Ave S.E., Suite 311, Cedar Rapids, IA, 319-393-1000.

TIME TO TURN IN KEYS If you have a key to the church please turn it in to the church office before August 29.

TIME TO EMPTY CHURCH MAILBOXES Please check your church mailbox and take all the items with you today. We need to empty these this week for our move.

LAST CALL ON LOST ITEMS as we pack we are finding more lost items. They are all on a table in the fellowship hall. Please look them over and take home what is yours. The rest will go to the Goodwill.
